The “Bonzai” Pipeline is famous for its huge waves that break into large, hollow curls of water that surfers can “tube” ride. The surf break is caused by a flat reef whose several underwater caverns cause air bubbles to pop on the front of a wave, creating the curling tube of water. Watch daring surfers brave the reef , or just enjoy watching the waves’ natural majesty.
